Design of a Residential Building on the Island of Antiparos, at Agios Georgios
INFORMATION
The building Permit was issued and construction is pending. The building consists of three duplex apartments each of 150 m2. The design aims so the building adapts to the local Cycladic Architecture by breaking the buildings volume to smaller independent ones, with terraces at different levels. The central part of the building adopted a Dome, element local style.
Long ago when people were poor, they were adding to the existing houses small rooms by following the ground, according to their family needs. This way houses seemed if it were climbing the steep hills with white terraces at different levels, just as the way this building is designed.
